We updated our kitchen, and removed the old "avocado green" hood vent, and wanted something to match our other stainless appliances. Installation was super easy with a few wires to connect and four bolts to install. There were pull-out metal tabs to adjust the opening from a narrow rectangle vent to a round opening depending upon your up vent. You will have to use some force and pliers to remove the correct cut-out for your install. The two features, the light and the fan, are standard. The light is on a dimmer switch/dial so you may adjust the lighting from low to bright. The fan has the same feature so you may adjust the fan from low to high. When on high, I will agree with other reviewers, that it is VERY loud. If you use the fan on high, you may have to turn it down to hear what someone else in the room is saying. BUT, the suction on this fan doesn't require the fan to be on high to remove steam or cooking odors from the stove area. I keep it on low/medium and find it works perfectly while still carrying on a conversation. Overall this was a great price for a great product. It works and it is inexpensive compared with other hood vents.
