With its sleek good looks and the elegant simplicity of its construction, the CX12 Black turned a lot of heads when it was introduced in 1992. It won the German Industry Design Award shortly afterwards, which was definitely a first for a harmonica instrument in modern times. Its powerful, distinctive sound and fast, easy response make it ideal for the ambitious amateur or contemporary professional player looking for a modern, easy to service chromatic harmonica in styles such as rock, pop and jazz.

Review: Odd look, great instrument - Reviews on this harp seem to be hot or cold, not much in between. Fortunately, I either got lucky with good one, or these Chromatics really are as good as some have reported. I am very happy with it. Great tone and volume, quick and responsive. This is the most air-tight Chromatic I own in any price point. I don’t notice much noise from the slide, not really ‘sloppy’ either. It is an odd looking beast, but it's so comfortable to play, I can overlook the fact that is looks like Pinewood Derby car. Not sure why I am apprehensive to pay for plastic vs chrome, when the end result is better on the plastic item. Old school, I guess. I don't really need another harp, but I may just talk myself into another one of these (if I can hide it from my wife)! I think you will be happy with this harp.

Reviews on this harp seem to be hot or cold, not much in between. Fortunately, I either got lucky with good one, or these Chromatics really are as good as some have reported. I am very happy with it. Great tone and volume, quick and responsive. This is the most air-tight Chromatic I own in any price point. I don’t notice much noise from the slide, not really ‘sloppy’ either.
