It's quite shiny and beautiful in person, although there are a couple of minor imperfections: 1. A small straight crack in the bone handle (see photo). Nothing feels loose, so this is a cosmetic defect, not structural. See photo. 2. Some manufacturing scratches/marks on the hilt, such as small dents or discolorations, presumably left over from tooling. You only really notice these if looking up close. You can see some of these on the attached photo. In terms of build quality, things feel sturdy and well put together. Nothing rattles when shaking the sword.
