The batting Tee sits on top a nice wide base. The base is pretty sturdy and is height adjustable. As I have a 7 and 11 year old, changing the height is a must. The overall quality is not bad. The base is a pretty heavy rubber and the stand is a nice metal. The set comes apart for easy transpiration and is perfect for any beginner. My little girl can now successfully hit the ball of the tee and is making progress. We are not working on hitting the ball longer distances. Made of hard plastic, which is not practical for a batting tee. One swing by my nine year old daughter (who is JUST learning and doesn't swing hard by any means) and the thing shattered.
