But once you get it, it out performs, cast iron, carbon, etc. Lots of people are jumping on the "you can season your SS". Although it does work, its a complete waste of time and unnecessary. Once u learn to use SS properly, food will not stick and clean up is a breeze. Good luck and dont give up! **Q: How does this pan compare to the 4112? Description sounds very similar but this price is much lower (with a lid.) Just because of sale?** A: I called Allclad and they said the only difference is that the 41126 comes with a lid. The discrepancy in the height measurement is because the 4112 listing measures to the top of the handle while the 41126 listing measures only to the top of the pan. The rep at Allclad assured me that the pans are identical and that the promo price wouldn't last forever. **Q: Is this 18/10 stainless, 304 surgical stainless, or 316 surgical stainless?** A: In all of my research before purchasing my All-Clad I have not come across the use of 304 or 316 surgical stainless, only 18/10. The Tri-ply cookware line that I have purchased (from Amazon and elsewhere) features a 3-ply design, 18/10 steel cooking surfaces, aluminum cores for the even heating, and the highly polished exterior 18/0 stainless for lasting beauty and induction compatibility. Hope this helps. **Q: Is All Clad Copper Core worth paying extra for?** A: the consensus answer I have found online is that copper core is NOT worth paying extra for. the all clad line with best temperature performance is actually the MC2, but the regular, 3 layer sandwich of SS around aluminum is the all-around winner because it is versatile (i.e. induction capable) and dishwasher safe, unlike MC2. started searching because I was contemplating purchase of a calphalon accucore set that was "deal of the day". learned the most at centurylife.org in an article about "is all-clad worth it". the answer was yes for the d3 all-clad but not for copper core. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ All Clad makes an exceptional product! *by J***G on July 6, 2026* Very happy! I also bought a couple of the All-Clad glass lids to go with the set for versatility. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Clean freaks: read before buying *by P***D on February 24, 2021* These pans are great, although sometimes I do wonder if they are worth the maintenance. I would probably give them 4.5 stars if I could. Pros: - They cook really well. They distribute heat very evenly and are great for browning meats and deglazing. They feel solid and are just nice to cook with. Definitely top of the line in this regard. - American-made, if that is important to you. Cons: - Expensive. Costco has a set that looks just like these for a fraction of the price. I have no doubt that these will perform better when cooking, but I am not sure by how much. - Hard to clean. If you are a clean freak like me and think you'll just be able to wash these with soap and water and be done, you're in for a rude awakening. You need to use Barkeeper's Friend, which is a stainless steel cleaner that comes in a powder form. I hit them with that stuff at least every other time I wash them, otherwise you'll get discolorations, water marks, and stains over time. You also can't let them air dry, because, again, you will get ugly water marks. I do throw my pots/pans in the dishwasher regularly, and I think they have lost some of their shine, but I don't really care. They still look great when I keep up with using the stainless steel cleaner. Some people have said they are not dishwasher safe. All-Clad says they are definitely dishwasher safe, but will lose their brilliance over time when washed in the dishwasher. - Lids are not heavy enough. They aren't flimsy, but they are very light. You can't cook rice in these pots without weighing down the lid, which is pretty dumb. I don't know why you would ever want such a light lid. - The pans are pretty small. If you want to cook a meal for a bunch of people, you're not going to be able to do it in these pans. It feels kind of crazy to spend $700 on this set, and then have to spend another $200 on a decent-sized frying pan. If you're usually cooking for one or two people this won't be an issue though. Overall: I am happy with them, but they're not perfect.
