I'm going to be switching from backpacking to bikepacking this year so I can bring my toddler along and I will be continuing to use the Shasta. Money well spent. I have recommended this pad to friends of mine.I've used thermarest pads and although they are likely the lightest option, they are extremely expensive. Another option is the Outdoors Lab pad which weighs in at 16oz and costs around 40 dollars. Klymit makes a decent budget friendly pad but, weighs in at about 18oz. The Shasta pad from Tillak weighs in at 13.7oz and costs around 50 dollars. Time will tell as to the quality of this pad. I have two nights on this pad so far. It is light and comfortable and full length. One complaint is that is seemed to deflate just slightly throughout the night. This may have to do with it being new and that the material is stretching and breaking in. Again, time will tell. This pad disperses weight well. A nice feature is that the edges of the pad inflate slightly thicker than the middle which creates a sort of cradle effect almost eliminating the roll off issue I have found on other pads. This pad is the best budget friendly option I have found thus far. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Pretty close! *by G***C on Reviewed in the United States on October 15, 2018* I'm a big gear nerd, so keep that in mind.I like that its lightweight, cheap and pretty comfortable, as well as packs down small and blows up reasonably quickly.I tend to inflate it absolutely all the way, and when I do it sort of twists, so it doesn't lay flat. That and the "mummy" shape means my feet are usually on the ground as I think it tapers too much. The R Value is totally worthless except for summer, but you could always combine a cheap ridge rest and this, or just a cheap ridge rest. They also say "Up to 6'2" people" however the pad is 73.5" and 6'2" would be 74"...furthermore long or tall pads are usually 78" or 80". I would love to see a rectangular version that is at least 74" (mainly because I am 6'2").So in summary this pad is close enough, and definitely cheap enough, and definitely not super rustly and noisy like so many ridiculous sleeping pads that inflate. It strikes the right balance so I'm pretty happy with it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is a really nice pad. I was a bit skeptical at first since it isn't from one of the big brands but so far, I'm liking this even more than my Thermarest Neo Air. It's lighter and more compact but it seems just as comfortable. It doesn't crinkle as much as the Neo Air either which is nice. It's not self inflating but it seems to take a lot less effort to fully inflate than the air mattresses I am used to.. I was surprised how fast it inflated. It also comes with a repair kit and a stuff sack. Not sure how they can sell these for so much less than the usual suspects but as far as I can tell, the quality is the same, if not better. Good stuff.Haven't heard of Tillak before but they seem pretty legit based on the info on their website... they also claim to donate 25% of profits as well which is nice. Cool company with a neat concept.
