They literally pop right in and work just like it did from the factory. I love my little electric weed eater. I mow and weed eat twice a week and have quite a good amount of ground to cover and even though I do have two extra (larger batteries) (I have the blower as well) I do it all and edge the entire driveway and walk way with the smaller battery that came with it. Back to the string spools. They do everything I need them to. Knocks down small weeds, thick weeds, and edges like a charm. All without stopping to restring or beat the spool trying to get more string out. I don't see how anyone could complain unless they are trying to bushhog with this thing. Never thought I'd say this...but I LOVE my electric weed eater, blower, and hedger, light, powerful, and SIMPLE. I love the idea of replacing the entire inner spool instead of winding string. Time is everything to me and this saves a ton.
