It's easy to install and works exactly as it should. I've read reviews of the freeze guard where people had trouble with temperature control and the system going on and off. If you actually READ the label attached around the temperature sensor tube (which WILL break if not handled properly) it tells you to route the sensor OUTSIDE the cabinet and protect it with some tubing. This is not a difficult thing to do and make perfect sense. I was planning on doing this even before I read the tag. It seemed logical if you have any idea how these devices function.Mine replaced a pair of old timers in individual boxes, so I had to bend some conduit (it's been a lot of years since I've done this, but no big deal) and extend some wiring.
