I bought this to use in cheese-making; specifically to stir the curds to separate from the whey. I was very pleased when opening it. It has just enough weight to feel super sturdy without being too heavy for my 55-year-old wrist. I really, really like the brushed finish on this stainless piece as it will not show fingerprints which the shiny stainless spoon handles definitely show. I also appreciate the hollow handle (which does not actually feel hollow) as this will stop the transfer of heat to the handle should I walk away leaving the spoon in a pot that is filled with very hot liquid. I also really like the height of this spoon. The stock pots I use are taller as opposed to wider and all my other utensils are a standard height, only coming even with the rim of my stockpots. This new slotted spoon will actually stick up well above the rims which I like a lot. I'm considering ordering a couple more of this company's kitchen utensils now that I see the quality of this particular spoon. Also, worth mentioning is the direction that the hole in the handle is. I keep my utensils in a large crock on my counter. However, if I wished to hang this flat on a wall, I prefer the direction of the hole in this handle (front to back) as opposed to the ones that go from side to side. The side to side ones would not work if you were to hang on a wall as the wide bottom of this slotted spoon would stick out from the wall as opposed to hanging flat on the wall.
