I have carpal tunnel and can't press down very hard.** A: It depends on how thick your paper is, but generally speaking, this trimmer cuts very smoothly with very little pressure. You can always run the cutter blade a second swipe just to be sure it cuts all the way through. I've had a lot of trimmers over the years and this is my all-time favorite. **Q: Where is this made?** A: On the underside of the trimmer it says "Made in China". **Q: I love the idea of this...but am I seeing right, it only goes up to 5 inches, without extending the arm? If so, that's just not going to work for me.** A: To the very outside white edge, it is exactly 5 1/2 inches, then you need to extend the arm. I love this trimmer, and use it to cut chipboard for my mini-albums.
