Like all waterbushes, the brush does fray if scrubbed too hard against paper, so if blending colors or doing a lot of shading, you might consider getting a watrbrush that you know will fray and lose its point and keep one just for detailed work. The one issue I do have with this brush is that water doesn't flow too easily- most of the time you have to squeeze the barrel to get the water flowing. This is a good and bad thing- with some mediums, I really like having control of the water so that a big drop doesn't flow out and flood whatever I am working on. But, when using pan watercolors and cakes of gouache, I like to have a waterbrush that allows water to flow continually (like the Aquash), so remembering to squeeze the barrel is not my favorite. But, like I said, the fine brush on this trumps everything else and is why I give it five stars. It allows for great control, especially in detailed work. It's the waterbrush I have been looking for. I just wish they'd adjust the water to flow out continually rather than having a drop or two come out when the barrel is squeezed.
