I have used old re-purposed doors for this, so those doors had drilled holes for the doorknobs that I've removed. I ordered the black as that color would match the barn-door hardware above it. I was a bit concerned that there is no option of using nails or screws to hold the pulls in place, but that is not an issue at all. They fit firmly in place and are not coming out unless I pry them out. An added advantage if that my young granddaughter was able to help me install these. She loves using a hammer, and with just a few gentle taps, these were seated just fine. They're also deep enough to grab with your fingers and pull. As far as I can tell, these are the best on the market!
