The sound quality is extraordinarily good. It's a shame Pt.2 comes to a premature end but I suppose we can't have everything. Only until you open the double fold sleeve you wouldn't know it was by King Crimson. Well I was very intrigued and had to investigate. Well nearly 50 years later and I'm still investigating this fascinating band. This latest incarnation has been with us for a while now but has such a vast catalogue they can afford to be a little risky. Recorded in late 2016, this band sound as tight and intricate as any of the other live recordings. When I first heard that the Krims were going back on the road but this time with 3 drummers, I wondered what Mr Fripp was up to. Well we discovered that all drummers would be active but 1 doubling up on keyboards. A stroke of genius. The advantage with this line up is they are more than capable to re-arrange anything from any album and give it a new life. Good examples are Indiscipline and Easy Money. My all time favourite song is included in this recording which is Starless and to be quite honest, this band does it justice (shame there's no John Wetton). There's also a brilliant version of Fracture. Life couldn't get any better. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful *by K***. on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 6 April 2018* As King Crimson forge ahead with their excellent live performances and now covering an even wider range of the K.C. back catalogue this latest release not only covers this wider repertoire, it shows how the earlier numbers have developed over time. I saw King Crimson when they played Edinburgh last and was blown away by the experience. I thought that might be my last opportunity and was frustrated that my circumstances prevented me booking a ticket for their upcoming Glasgow show. I was, therefore, delighted that they added an Edinburgh date to the 2018 tour.There are different approaches to “moving forward” and reworking old material. I completely understood Miles Davis’ attitude that the past was the past and artists reworking the styles of his work of previous decades was just “... warmed over turkey” but on the other hand, where there is real integrity of purpose, as here, then the exercise becomes a wholly positive and artistically valuable proposition. I was mildly sceptical when I first heard of this reactivation of king Crimson but very soon I was won over. This album is further evidence to support the value of the ongoing Crimson saga.
