Review: Very good strings - I’ve not tried this particular one before, usually opting for the Ernie ball 9’s ( pink pack) but I wanted to try the 8’s , they are pretty good to be fair , not broken one ( yet , and I do tend to dig in a bit) stay in tune very well, ( after a good stretch) good sound and a decent price, will buy again, not had them long enough to rust yet, but I play every day so that’ll keep it down
Review: Converted to Cobalts! - Bought these on a whim as I've used Ernie Ball's extra slinky nickel wound for years, but thought I'd try out the cobalt version. Since then I only use cobalts! The volume and tone (whether plugged in or not) seems increased, the cleans sound prettier and full (but not muddy), and when put through distortion it sounds crisper, both chords and single notes stand out better than ever. The feel is smoother than nickel wound, and if you've bought/used to extra slinky you'll already know about the insane bends you can pull off. A friend of mine uses Cobalts (13's as supposed to my 8's) to help with a Nickel allergy and confirms the improvement on the thicker end of the scale as well, so added bonus there! The only negative side, and it's not a biggy is they go darker faster than nickel wound, normally this is a sign you need to change them when it's nickel wound but it's not necessarily the case with Cobalts.

## Features

- Cobalt produces a stronger magnetic relationship between pickups and strings, resulting in increased output.
- Cobalt electric guitar strings provide an extended dynamic range, incredible harmonic response, strong low end, and crisp, clear highs.
- Wound strings consist of Ernie Ball’s Cobalt alloy wrapped around a tin-plated high-carbon steel core wire.
- Extra Slinky brings extra light tension for fast and easy play across the fretboard.
- Made in the USA.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the difference between the Power and Super strings?**
A: Power Slinky are 2 standard gauges thicker than Super Slinky. So the only difference is the thickness of the strings.

**Q: Can these be used in drop b on a les paul style guitar**
A: I've used them drop c on my les paul and not too bad

**Q: Will these work on an acoustic guitar**
A: I always use Ernie Ball .009 -.042 on my acoustic as I like light strings and they keep a good tone for weeks.

**Q: I understand only the 4th, 5th and 6th are coated. The plain strings are the same as a normal SS pack. Is that right?**
A: Hi, These aren't coated strings. They are made of cobalt which reacts with the pickups a bit more to increase output. The 4th, 5th and 6th strings are made with cobalt but the plains are standard ernie ball plains. Thanks EmileStrings Direct

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great product
*by M***L on 5 August 2016*

Just fitted these to my 80s Washburn and boy do they sing! Fantastic strings, beautiful sound and good value for money. Would recommend them especially if you want a string that's a super light action and bends really easily.
