I usually wear running shoes which are great during the Florida summers, but right now it's cold and wet and if I walk in a semi-deep puddle, the water soaks through my shoes and into my socks. I put these socks on over my regular socks, and then wear my shoes, and my feet stay dry and warm. I also plan on using them on my cruise next month as the pool decks usually get really slippery. I wear shoe size 12W which according to the chart is size XL, after receiving an trying on the sock, I quickly realized that the sock was much to big for my foot. I returned the product and ordered and received size L, which still fit loose and allowed water to get into my foot. I was expecting a tight seal and that is not what I got with these socks. ### ⭐ Sand free?? No holes in the sole?? *by P***L on Reviewed in the United States on May 2, 2019* I will admit that I have not had these to the beach as yet, but based upon other reviews which said that one could walk in the water and not have sand get into the top of the sock because they fit snugly around your ankle, I question the accuracy of that statement. They do have gaps and do not fit snugly around my ankles. I still plan to keep them htowever, just unsure if they will really be "sand-proof".UPDATE: I have worn these "socks" about a dozen times now. The product description states: "Unlike traditional water socks which always develops holes in the toe and sole area, DiveItOne water socks solves this problem and would never allow holes to be developed since it uses top material in toe and sole area."I have holes in the soles of my "socks"!!! I have not abused them....just normal wear to and on the beach.ONE STAR.
