I have yet to find a piece of wood, no matter how oddly shaped, that this thing wasn't able to hold with an iron grip. I truly wish I would have purchased one of these years ago. I'm mostly a hand tool woodworker, I work both green & dry wood of all sorts of shapes & sizes. This vise has proved invaluable thus far in clamping everything from simple boards to complex shaped carving pieces, including spoons & kuksas. The clamping power is strong, and the included padded jaws have great grip, even on oddly shaped pieces of wood. Impressive capacity and so easy to mount. I simply mounted it to my everything bench (my spare bench that I do everything other than fine woodworking on). Easy to take off and move if needed and mount elsewhere so it's quite portable. I'd highly recommend this vise to anyone that's looking for a versatile, and portable clamping option.
