If your charger says it will charge NiMH (nickel - metal hydride) batteries is should be good. Remove the battery from the charger when fully charged. The battery may be warm when the charge ends; this is normal because of the work (energy transfer) that has been done. In general batteries should be charged at 1/10 their normal discharge rate listed on their specification sheet (usually available online from the manufacturer.) If you are making you own charger, note that newer chemistries such as NiMH require use of an electronic charge management circuit and temperature sensor to vary the charge rate to prevent overheating the battery. But keep in mind there are phones that use another style of batteries so one must check your phone and see. **Q: What is the actual maH of the batteries that I will recieve?** A: The specs say 700maH **Q: What would be the recommended recharge cycle to optimize these batteries (AAA). *using a charger with adjustable settings** A: Using up to 400mAh (500mAh might be fine but the batteries will be a bit warmer) in a smart charger and usually i will refresh the batteries in a high drain device (or the device you plan on using them in). If the device is not a high drain device such as a USB battery pack or a Maglite flashlight (you'd have to monitor the flashlight to avoid over discharging) then using a smart charger with a discharge feature is the best way.You shouldn't need to cycle the batteries more than once (top off charge > discharge > full recharge), you could actually test the batteries and that would be good enough, i suggested the latter though because i don't want to waste cycles on a smart charger. One full discharge cycle upon purchase is necessary due to self discharge and most likely because the batteries are more than a few months old and then subsequent refreshing is only needed based on usage.
