It worked swimmingly. In the last two years or so we've had intermittent signal problems that the Optimum Support folks have insisted was the cabling in the house. I replaced the cables and still no joy. After exchanging the third cable box at one of their stores the sales rep mentioned replacing the splitter. Suddenly it occurs to me that this was the easiest thing to replace. I found the same make and model on desertcart and my signal problems have been resolved. I now know more about splitters than I ever wanted to know. Attach your longest cable run to the -3.5dB port. All good. Review: Works fine - Kind of hard to rate this anything but 1 or 5 stars, it either works or it doesn't. My cable provider decided to start charging $3.95 to lease the cable modem, but did say you could purchase your own, and gave a list of compatible units. I have my phone service through the cable, and a tv tuner in my PC, so I needed 3 cables. I'm not fluent in all the tech nuances of cable, but a little bit of poking around on the Googles told me the unbalanced splitter was the way to go, use the -3.5db output for the internet, and the two -7db outputs for the others. After I hooked everything up, the internet was running fine, I ran SpeedTest.net and got 20mb/s down and 1.5 mb/s up, same as I had before the change. (Funny side note; the cable company said if I had phone service, I would need an eMTA when I activated my new cable modem. I used their online chat feature, and the "tech" I chatted with said to go to the service center to get one. When I got there, the rep said it was already in the old modem. I said yes, but I purchased one and have to turn the old one in to avoid the monthly lease fee. She said as soon as I activated the modem I bought, it would be fine. Got the bill, she was right. So the MORON on chat made me waste an hour driving for nothing, and WHY THE F*** DID THEY MAKE ME BUY A MODEM WHILE THE OLD ONE IS STILL SITTING ON MY DESK FOR FREE???? I replaced this splitter with a two way and added an extra cable line. I usually have my tv and internet on at the same time and they both seem to work just fine.
