In fact the thing just stoppped turning on last month. Probably the battery needs replacing and it’ll be back up. The point is that it’s RARELY the tech that’s bad it’s what we call in the IT Industry an ID 10 T error. It’s about 90% of all issues. People don’t know or don’t want to take care of their equipment. People don’t buy a car and don’t do anything but put gas in and drive. That car will die pretty fast sorry preaching off the soap box now anyway computers must be cared for if you want them to last. **Q: Is there a case for this display or will I need to custom build one. I'm new to the Pi world.** A: the display is the case once you flip it over there are plastic plates that rest on top of the pi board and there after you place the board on the 3 plastic plates that rest on top of the pi board are more than enough protection. it’s pretty simple to set up and i would lay on a flat surface to protect the display then screw in the board. remember each time you re image the sd card you’ll have to u screw to get to the board to disengage and then reinsert your re images micro as card. it’s a tiny bit bothersome of a design but the ips display is nice. i like it. best wishes 😀 **Q: Can the screen power the Pi, or can the Pi power the screen?** A: I was getting constant low voltage / throttled messages when using the SunFounder as a KlipperScreen device if I was getting power to the RPi4 from the SunFounder Board. I put the RPi4 on its own power supply and the messages stopped. YMMV **Q: what are the maximum dimensions of that screen?** A: The outside dimensions are 9 3/4 by 6 3/4 inches. Touch screen is a little insensitive sometimes for finger use. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works quite well, 5v is under powered *by W***N on 25 December 2020* Nice display, crisp clear and relatively big. The touch screen works really nicely although does appear to be 5 finger not 10 finger tested on Buster on a rpi3b.The builtin 5V cannot reliably power a rpi3b so I really doubt it could handle a rpi4. On the 3b the lightning bolt is nearly always on, so I just power the rpi separately.Overall I like this display, I just wish it were a little cheaper ;)Picture is of it running my Smoopi, 3D/CNC controller S/W written in Kivy running standalone (no XWindows).
