The epaulets on the shoulders are somewhat "fake-ish" in that they do not form a whole link that goes through a loop on the outer edge of the shoulder, the way the epaulets on the older jacket do. Other than that, this is the real deal. As to the comments from other reviewers about this jacket running a bit small, I now am in a position to confirm that they indeed do run about a half size small. If you like a body hugging fit, go ahead and order your usual size; if, on the other hand, you prefer a bit more "wiggle room," definitely order one size up. When I bought my original jacket in the mid-1980s, (Yes, you heard that right! My old Members Only jacket is over 30 years old, and I still have it) These jackets came in chest sizes, e.g., 42", 44", and so on. Now they are designated as "S, M, L" and so on. That makes it very difficult to gauge what size you really should get. My original jacket is a 44. Now, in the defense of the seller, let me say that they do include a size chart that may be of some help--if you are lucky enough to find it, that is! I was just lucky enough to stumble upon it by sheer accident. According to the chart, a chest size of 42 to 44 and a waist size of 36 to 38, would be equal to the Large. But that is on the upper border of the size range for the L designation. I should probably have gotten an XL--but it says here that XL is not available in black! So I was left with a choice: Either I took my chances on a L in black--or--I was going to have to get an XXL--or worse--take an XL in a color I didn't want!! I decided to "pay my nickel and take my chances," so to speak, and ordered the Large. The jacket arrived promptly (several days earlier than Amazon had estimated, in fact!) and was well packaged. I tried it on, and, yes, it is a bit "snug," although it is not prohibitively so. I decided to keep the body hugging L, rather than return it for an almost-certainly-too-big XXL. (Why are they not available in black in an XL????) The bottom line: If you love these nostalgic jackets as do I, definitely order one. If you like a body hugging fit, check out their sizing chart (if you can find it) and order whichever size most closely matches your normal size. But if you like a bit more room, definitely order one size up. My original Members Only lasted over 30 years with nary a problem, and the new one looks to be equally sturdy. Will it last another 30 years? Tune in in 2046, and we'll see! ### ⭐⭐ Buttons are not black they are silver, very small XL feels like a medium. *by J***F on Reviewed in the United States on January 10, 2019* In the picture, the item shows a black zipper and a black buttons, both are silver when delivered. I'm also seeing other customers complaining of the same issue. This is nowhere near the "original". Some other sellers show pictures of the original and this one has different stitching too, perhaps its a different style. Runs very small. I'm 5'9 190lbs, and bought the XL. If you have arms over 16 inches or chest bigger than 44" it will never fit you, despite the claims of the sizing chart. It barely sits at belt high, for an XL that's pretty short considering my height. The sleeve length is accurate however, if I went with a 2X, the sleeves would have been too long. I'm debating if I'm going to keep this or not. Aside from all that, it is quite stylish and has an updated modern look to the classic jacket, its very thin and doesn't appear to even have a liner so don't mix this one up for the Cold Weather version. This is more of a style piece/accessory than anything. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Returned - Runs Very Small - Not For Bigger Builds *by D***T on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2018* Love the look of this jacket and I feel like it would be a comfortable one if it weren't for the fit of the thing. I'm a larger dude so I'm sure if you are smaller than me, say 5'9"-5'11" or so with a slim build these jackets would probably be just fine. I'm 6'1" @ about 215 lbs and the XL fit me as if it was a womens/juniors sized jacket. Most jackets and hoodies I can get away with a size large and if they run slim than XL just for reference. Should have gotten a pic of me in the jacket for reference/hilarity.
