Slip resistance is as good as can be expected when using paint - I found given the simplicity of the tool, it was very easy to use on the end of a standard telescopic pole. Review: Good for getting a straight line - Whilst painting the high stairwell drop , Mr Longarm paint edger achieved a far more accurate cutting in line than previously attempting to use a paint brush on a pole. It was quick and easy to use and would recommend this product and avoids having to climb a ladder. And the ShurLine pads Amazon tries to pair with this product do not work. I love this edger so much that I wrote to the manufacturer and asked them where to find pads. They said Amazon decides which of their products to carry, and not much they can do about it - so I ended up paying $6.50 shipping on three $3.86 pads, when I already have Prime. So, not happy with Amazon. Actually I use mine on a long arm pole and use it to wash the vinyl siding on my house. I have never painted with it. I have used it on many different extension poles. It seems to be pretty universal. **Q: Can this be used to cut in a ceiling? (not the walls, but the ceiling itself).** A: I would not use this at all. It is difficult getting enough paint onto the pad even using a paint brush to paint the pad. It is not worth the hassle. You would be better off getting a good Wooster angled paint brush or just taping off. If your ceilings are really high then get a McCauley's Revolver tool to hold the (good) paint brush and then attach that to an extension pole. That would work better than any of the edgers currently being sold. I just painted a 2200 sq. ft. house that we purchased with high ceilings and used the above mentioned tools. Go slow and steady. **Q: does it work with texture walls?** A: It depends on the depth of the texture. If you have a slight, sanded type it would be okay. The nylon bristles are about a quarter of an inch long.
