We already have a Rockport but need an extra shelf.** A: No **Q: Can it be used without the shelf to put a small garage can under?** A: It would be kind of wobbly. The shelf can be put at any height. I'd think even at the very top would be better than leaving it off. **Q: What is the gauge of the steel in this table?** A: I apologize. I said 16 gauge, but it’s more like 24 gage. It’s super tough to know exactly without a micrometer and the ends are rolled. I wouldn’t be hammering on it or doing any heavy duty wood/metal work on it. It can definitely hold a lot of pounds but when it’s placed on it. My nephew kind of let go too fast (didn’t gently) place a 120lb sewing machine on the top of this the other day and now it has the mount bolt impression haha but I still love it. It’s more for food and deli use but we’re using it as a flash drying station for t shirts when we cure our screen print orders. Our flash dryer isn’t blowing direct heat on it but when a standard shirt is on top and the flash dryer is doing it’s job, it’s blowing over 300 degrees. Great value for the $$. ### ⭐ Great Product Ruined By Lack of Care *by P***R on June 8, 2024* This table is well built, and I have a similar smaller one already that I really like. However, it is clear that there is no care given to packaging this product. It's packaged extremely poorly and mine came with several bends in the metal on the edge, the two most noticable I've attatched photos of. As well, the grub screws are not secured for shipping. Three fell out, with two of them gone completely and only one extra provided. It sucks because if the same level of care went into packaging this product as building it, it'd be a total win. As it is now, I recommend avoiding it. EDIT: It's been a little over a year. This table was too long for my needs, so I replaced it with a shorter one by Holly. (The same company that made the smaller one I have) The quality and care is night and day. I decided to use this elsewhere but needed to adjust thr shelf height. Well, two screws in one of the legs stripped so now it's only held to three legs. I also had to clean the rust spots off again, something that isn't much of an issue on the Holly table. This thing really is garbage so I'm reducing the score to one star. It technically is functional. Buy the Holly brand instead. They're actually built well and packaged properly.
