## Description

Packed with smart design, the Versafix is a compact fixed blade/machete hybrid that swings heavy with features. The weight-forward design gives swift results with less effort and a recurved blade shape retains sharpness near the base for traditional knife work. Forward jimping on the top of the blade gives grip when batoning, a high comfort handle means less fatigue and hot spots. The Versafix is an excellent tool to have at your side while moving through dense terrain.

Review: Great Chopper - Probably not the greatest steel, but still a great tool all around. I have used it a lot since I purchased it, and it has done everything I have needed it to. The weight distribution is fantastic so it chops through things as well or better than things twice the size. Some reviews I read mentioned that it is difficult to sharpen, but I disagree. It is obviously different to sharpen, due to the unique blade shape, but really not hard. You will get plenty of practice too because it doesn't hold the greatest edge, but when you get a good edge on it, you can chop, baton, feather stick, etc.
Review: Works great - It has held up great and holds an edge while being put to work. For the price you can't beat it !

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What steel does it use?**
A: Unidentified stainless steel.  Well made but obviously not a high grade steel (or Gerber would proudly proclaim it on the package).  Still useful but will probably need more frequent sharpening.

**Q: Where is this product made ?**
A: This product is made in China but it is not true that all their products are made there. I have a Gerber mini covert auto and it is definitely made in USA.

**Q: How about for whacking bush?**
A: Small jobs only, yes.

**Q: What steel is used for the regular versafix (not the pro)? I see the pro is stainless.**
A: It’s the same stainless steel used on the pro. The only difference being the pro has the cutouts to reduce weight and improve balance.

Probably not the greatest steel, but still a great tool all around. I have used it a lot since I purchased it, and it has done everything I have needed it to. The weight distribution is fantastic so it chops through things as well or better than things twice the size. Some reviews I read mentioned that it is difficult to sharpen, but I disagree. It is obviously different to sharpen, due to the unique blade shape, but really not hard. You will get plenty of practice too because it doesn't hold the greatest edge, but when you get a good edge on it, you can chop, baton, feather stick, etc.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice Sharp Chopper

Received it today. The external box was okay but inside the blister pack was torn. The knife and sheath are fine. The blade was extremely sharp. It is a nice knife to hold - light and lively. The grip is solid and comfortable. I give the sheath a "B" because it uses Velcro strap to secure the knife at the handle instead of a snap. This will make a good camp knife and a knife for around the garden for any shrubs that need cutting back.
