DeShedding removes loose, dead undercoat without damaging the coat (when used properly). A FURminator deShedding tool removes significantly more loose hair. **Q: Why is deshedding important?** A: When the hairs sprouting from hair follicles stop growing, they shed to make room for new hair growth. Loose hair, if not regularly removed, can accumulate moisture, gathering dust, dirt, mud, etc. and lead to matts. **Q: Why choose a FURminator deShedding Tool?** A: From the stainless steel edge to the ergonomic handle, our tools are built to last and will last for many years with proper use. Our tools are designed with pet & owner comfort in mind. **Q: How often and how long should I use the deShedding Tool?** A: Use 1-2 times every week for 10 to 20 minutes per session on dry hair. Before using the tool, remove tangles or mats with FURminator Adjustable deMatter Tool or Grooming Rake. **Q: How does the tine protection bar work when not in use?** A: Push the FURejector button down as far as it will go to lock it and pull the button towards you until you hear a "click" that the protective bar is engaged. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Highly recommend *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 22 July 2026* Wish I’d bought this years ago for my Golden Retriever. Gets so much more fur out than a normal brush- so less on the floor too! Have had loads of comments about how good her coat looks. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just amazing! *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 23 August 2026* I would 100% recommend this brush! We have three very hairy Labradors, and the amount of hair that comes off them with this brush is unreal 😂🐶 It genuinely does exactly what it says on the tin — I’m honestly amazed at how much loose hair it gets out! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Furminater *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 24 July 2026* I have a husky who is shedding this brush is really good.
