These can be decorated over or sanded off with fine sandpaper. Due to the manufacturing process of the mdf the surface takes paint quicker than most regular mdf. The only -admittedly petty- niggle, was that the clear 3-4 mm lip extending around the whole 100mm footprint revealed these aren't 100% cut to measure.
