Review: Good glass for the money - I’ve been using the Vortex Optics Crossfire II (Second Focal Plane) and it’s been solid so far. Glass is clear enough for hunting and range days, holds zero, and does what it’s supposed to do. It’s not a high-end scope, but it’s also not priced like one. Adjustments aren’t super crisp, but they work fine for normal use. Eye relief is good and it feels durable. Big plus is the Vortex lifetime warranty — hard to beat for the price. Overall, good value and I’d buy it again. Review: Great Scope - Great scope for the money. I purchased this after buying and returning two other similar scopes, one was a Barska, and the other was a UUQ (what was I thinking!). I was trying to save a couple of dollars. Well needless to say the Vortex was the way to go. For a few bucks more you get way better quality, clear glass, robust components and even better packaging. Also a lifetime no questions asked warranty. You get what you pay for, don't do what I did....Just get a Vortex the first time. ## Features - The 4-12x44 Crossfire II riflescope is one of many configurations in the Crossfire II line. If not, any recommendations?** A: The scope does not come with flip up scope covers. I purchased Butler Creek ones and they work great. For the eye piece go with size 14-15-16 (their sizing is weird) and for the objective go with 13-15. They work great and I have no complaints. **Q: Is it good in dark areas** A: Me owning both a 44mm and a 50mm I’d say if you want one for lower light go 50mm. I’ve heard that it doesn’t matter but like I said i have both.. the 50mm you can see earlier in the morning and later into the night.. only down side is if your facing a sun rise or a sun down the 50mm absorbs to much light causing a glare.. you can buy a screw in extender that takes care of that tho.. hope That helped **Q: will this scope hold up to the pounding of the AK47 recoil** A: This is an amazing scope. Like the others have said handling a 416 rigby and a 338 win mag itll hold up to the 7.62x39 for sure. I know ur thinking probably about the continual jarring of a semi automatic but this scope holds up just fine. Best thing is u cant go wrong with vortexes warranty. I have two a 2-7x32 on my 375 HH, and a 3-9x40 on my .30.06, and only had one issue on the 3-9x40 from a shooting trip after i got it home i guess it got knocked around too hard and there was like dirt inside of the glass. I called vortex they sent me a sgipping label and said well fix it ir replace it and in a week or two i got my scope back good as new. I love vortex the scopes are great, and the customer service cant be beat. **Q: What type of crosshairs does it have?** A: It has a duplex crosshairs, with the addition of three ballistic-drop-compensating (BDC) hash marks on the bottom part of the reticle. The hash marks are located at 1.5, 4.5 and 7.5 minutes of angle below the center. If you find the bullet drop for your cartridge with a given zero point, the BDC hashes will show you where to hold for longer ranges. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good glass for the money *by J***O on December 28, 2025* I’ve been using the Vortex Optics Crossfire II (Second Focal Plane) and it’s been solid so far.
