Review: Great kit for little money - I bought this kit as I wanted some piece of mind, but without paying out a lot of money. I had just been involved in sourcing and organising a new CCTV security system for a business premises that I was involved in and realised some of the costs involved! I fitted the whole system myself and found it relatively easy to install. Since, I fitted it, there was an incident locally and the system had record edge vital footage that the police used. I have had to contact customer services on occasion to check on some technical issues and found they were fantastic (thanks Jennifer). All in all this is a very good piece of kit zand well backed up. Oh by the way... The imaging from the cameras is absolutely first class. The police were really impressed.
Review: Good value for money - Bought this in a hurry as needed to protect an elderly relative who was being scammed by door-to-door salesmen etc. So far I have been reasonably happy with the system as it does what I want it to. I'd give if 4.5 stars but dropping a whole star would be a bit picky. As a software engineer I know I could build a far better system given the time but would struggle to match the price. As will most things, you get what you pay for so the price point has to be taken into account when buying such a system. I'm under no illusion that if I wanted a 'premium' system I'd have to pay far more. The system came with 4 cameras that have both a WiFi antenna and a LAN socket. The main box only has one LAN socket which is used to connect it to the router. I'm guessing if you wanted the cameras fully wired then you'd have to connect them to a hub/router. Really, I'm not quite sure why the cameras have the LAN socket given they've got WiFi. In fact the LAN socket is on a small trailing lead hanging off the back of the camera along with the power lead, which is a bit annoying really. After wasting time taping up the LAN sockets to waterproof them I found some small rubber bungs in the bottom of the boxes which are apparently meant to seal the sockets. The setup was easy enough once I'd given up on the supplied manual (which didn't match the current software) and looked online. The unit found the cameras automatically. One odd thing was that it assigned numbers to the cameras as if they had been preset. E.g. the first one I powered up came up as camera #3. I was expecting to have to configure each one and assign it a number. I haven't had chance to fully investigate the security of the system. The main unit is password protected but out of the box there is no password set for the admin user - I would definitely suggest setting one ASAP. My main concern was the ease at which the cameras were connected (automatically) via WiFi. This makes me suspect that although the box and recordings may have some degree of protection the cameras themselves may be open. I was at the very least expecting some sort of pairing to be required to establish a secure link from the main unit to the cameras. Without further investigation I don't think I'll be pointing the cameras at anything private and certainly wouldn't want them in the house. The images from the camera are pretty clear - more than good enough to identify people. Being HD you can zoom in quite a bit also (E.g. on the phone app). The IR illumination comes on automatically when it gets too dark for the normal daylight mode to be useful. The 'night vision' mode is really good with a good degree of illumination. The phone app works well so long as you have a reasonable internet connection between the phone and the main box. I've found it's good enough to allow the cameras to be monitored from 100 miles away. It also allows access to the recordings etc. Obviously, the main concern is that the main box is recording the footage rather than the quality of it when viewing remotely. One minor annoyance is the HMDI output from the main box. Although this is nice clear HD in my case the experience was marred by quite a bit of noise on the cable that resulted in random horizontal lines all over the picture on my monitor. This noise seemed to relate to the hard drive being accessed from what I can tell. That being said there is no noise on the actual recordings, nor is it viable on the phone app (just something affecting the HDMI output). The software in the main unit could probably be better but it's clearly done on a budget. That being said it does what you want it to - I.e. it records clear HD video from all the cameras. It has the ability to record on a time schedule and/or based on movement. The software can also trigger recording using remote sensors but the system is not supplied with these. It can also send alerts to the phone app when motion is detected (this can also be narrowed down to specific areas of the frame). There is provision for it so send email alerts but that requires you to enter the password of your email account (I'd seriously advise setting up a specific email account if you are going to do this and not use you personal one). In summary, it does what I want it to do. It seems pretty reliable so far. The cameras have a reasonable range and the images are clear. For the price you are getting 4 HD WiFi cameras, a 1TB hard drive plus the control box and software.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I presume if there is a power cut the cameras will not work?**
A: Dear Customer,
Thanks for your question. Yes,if the power is cut, the camera will not work. Thanks

**Q: Does the system record all the time or only when it detects a movement? Also when the drive (1tb) is full does it reset and erase the images?**
A: It can be set 24/7 recording. It can also be set only recording when there is movement. When hard drive is full, it will erase oldest file and keep recording.

**Q: can you get notifications from app as well as email**
A: Hi dear Trevor Beacock ,
Thanks for your question.
Yes,you can get notifications both App and Email box,it's easy to set in the syttem, thanks

**Q: Hi my cameras keep just showing a blank screen when i try to look remotely**
A: Not a problem I have encountered. I know that if the connection to the router is interrupted it does not automatically reconnect when signal is re-established but it shows it offline. Guesses would be an incompatibility with the phone or an incorrect set up on the phone (try re-installing app). The fact you get a connection but only see a blank screen (presumably on all cameras) is outside my knowledge sorry. You could try emailing them, they were quick to replace a faulty camera so I think they could be helpful. Sorry I could not be of more help

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well, easy to install
*by S***N on 10 August 2019*

I'm impressed with this camera system. I bought it with the 1Tb hard disk storage, and it is definitely worth ordering that option. The cameras transmit via wireless digital radio to the main unit, although they do have ethernet connectors if you want to hardwire them. I didn't need these, so they come with a little rubber blanking plug to stop water getting in. So each camera just needs a 12v power supply. Each one comes with a mains adaptor with a long lead, but if you need longer you can get 12v extension leads cheaply via Amazon or eBay (up to 60 ft). The main unit plugs into your TV via an HDMI cable (one is supplied). It also has a mouse so you can control it (zoom in on a specific camera, select a data and time to play back from, etc). The unit also plugs into your internet router (via ethernet cable, not wirelessly). You can then download an app for your phone which is great at monitoring your cameras from wherever you are in the world, and a similar app for your PC. The latter was a bit confusing, but they supply an email address for technical support and I was very impressed with how quick they were in responding personally with advice and how helpful that advice was. The manufacturer appears to be taking support very seriously rather than just throwing together a cheap product and running away with the money. Picture quality on the app / PC is a bit compressed (quality is excellent on the TV via HDMI), but this is probably to save internet bandwidth. The cameras have strong aluminium cases, and the infrared illumination is impressive - you can hardly see it with the naked eye, but it really lights up your garden in the cameras. I'm sure you could buy a flashier system that would be a bit better, but probably 3 times the price. So for the price this seems very effective and good value for money.
