Yes, it is quite small. In fact, it is smaller than I had thought it would be BUT it will still work for my lunches. The "crystal" top with the picture is separate from the the rest, it doesn't attach in anyway and the blue band is the only way to hold it on. The smaller box comes with a divider and both tiers have their own lids.
