## Description

Limited clearance cable tire snow chains for most makes models of passenger automobiles.

Review: Nice quality! Price & ease of use when needed. - I've used tire chains for my cars periodically over the past 40 or so years. These are really nice! They are not super bulky & not practically indestructible, like the good old days. BUT, for the few times when they are needed, they are more than functional! They are compact and store very nicely; even come with a handy bag. They are extremely easy to install; chances are, it's not the best of conditions outside when they're needed! I like the cables vs the heavy chains for light to medium duty. I suspect that these won't hold up as well, as long as the chain versions. Not for everyday / long-term usage! However, having frozen nearly to death wrestling with the heavy chains, I'll trade ease of use any day. I'd seriously suggest also getting the tightener, Glacier has an inexpensive set for abt USD 8. But I prefer the multi arm versions - abt USD12 - 20. Also, in sets of 2 (two). Worth it! From experience, take the time to order the correct size for your vehicle! Also, practice installing them when the weather is favorable! Cheers!
Review: Perfect, easy to install and works great! - I don't think there is much more I can say about this product, but if your on the fence, let me sway you with the details: Product arrived in a convenient carry case. It looked tangled so I just set it aside for when I needed it. Lo and behold 3 weeks later I did! I took the cables out of the package, undid the twist ties and it all but unraveled itself! It was actually rolled up pretty neatly. Installation was a sinch, the instructions were pretty clear. Traction was just absolutely awesome! I was able to get around places I could not last time we had winter weather! It warns to not go over 30mph but I was able to easily do 40-50 with very little vibration, just enough to know they were still there, and yes I can be careless, but I always like to push my gear to the edge so I will know what it can do in case of emergency.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great traction, but rust. Please read/ be careful!
*by D***G on February 20, 2016*

Very very effective. I was able to go with my 2wd truck where some 4wd with bare all seasons couldn't. Didn't damage wheels, but rusty after three days of use. Appears to just be surface rust, but unsure how many more seasons these will last. Please read below to the end if you don't have experience with chain or cable traction devices. It may save you a LOT of trouble. The Glacier/ Pewag chain website has a very helpful sizing chart for thier passenger stuff. Be sure to check all applicable laws dictating when and where you can run chains on public roads! Also, don't forget to buy tensioners. They keep the chain aligned, which decreases the chances of failure and subsequent vehicle damage. Update: It has been nearly two years since I purchased these. Here's how they've held up. I have used them probably 10 times and put about 250 miles on them. Despite being very rusty out of the bag after sitting in the garage for the summer, they still work great. The rust comes right off with snow melt and abrasion. The rust doesn't seem to go very deep into the steel cables or adversely effect it's strength. If it's cold enough and there isn't a bunch of salty, slushy mess on the roads, they don't rust. As long as you rinse and hang them up to dry after each wet use, and don't use them for extended periods in those conditions, they can last a good while. WD-40 isn't a bad idea to help protect them further during storage. Also, DONT spin your tires, drive over 30 mph, or use them at all if there isn't enough snow/ice to isolate them from the pavement completely. A little wheel slip and CRAWLING on dry pavement with your hazards on for a few hundred yards to pull over and take them off is OK, but lots of wheel spin or time on dry pavement can shred your tires, or worse, break the cables and beat the living snot out of your vehicles body. They work best when you aren't spinning your tires, and going over 30mph in conditions that require chain's isn't smart anyway. Ruptured brake lines and hoses are also a possibility in the broken cable scenario, so keep that in mind. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to the T! Stop and inspect them frequently during use. These have the potential to cause lots of property damage or serious injury if you aren't being careful. I only use these when I can't avoid being on the road and they are the only option. I use them primarily on private gravel roads anyway. Snow tires are better, but in VA, it doesn't snow enough to justify the investment.
