There are two Velcro adjustments, both in the back. If and only if you are flexible enough and can do it without hurting your shoulder you can slip it on like vest. There's a risk it won't be tight enough on you if put on this way, but I do it. Taking it off is also a challenge. Not easy to put on and take off. Would be a better product if it came with an easy-to-reach strap that hangs down from the center back piece. I added one myself to make it easier to take off. The added strap also helps adjust the position of the brace on my back when it rides up a little. Uncomfortable under the arms for the first few days, but after that it conforms to the wearer's body.
