It's bad enough to where it really should have a critical warning on it. Why? Basically, unlike 99% of everything else in the world, this will NOT come off your skin with soap and water. No scrubbing will remove it. Don't believe me? Google it and read how people have removed it from their fingers. I'm literally talking about things like using a grinder. The initial R-value is 4.3 per inch and the aged R-value is 3.7. Will the foam crack if a nail goes into it?** A: This is the perfect place to use this foam! I did this in my own home recently when we were installing new baseboard. You can apply the foam in the gap, and like others said be careful about overfilling because it does expand quite a lot. I also highly recommend buying our Cleaner / Amazon # B0002YWRG4 because you can spray this on a paper towel and clean up foam when it's still wet. It's a useful product for any project using GREAT STUFF foams. Don't worry if it puffs out too much, you can cut, sand, caulk or paint this foam once fully cured/dry. The foam will not crack if you nail through it but it also is not structural so you'll need to make sure you're nailing the molding into the wall. The stuff before it cures is full of flammable gas but it doesn't say anything about keeping the cured material from heat. Now, that being said, (I'm putting on my professional chemist hat) Great Stuff is a polyurethane. And polyurethanes are flammable. So, I would be concerned if the area got very hot, say over 150F.
