It is soft and light. If you use it in your commute and can keep it in a safe place, it's super fashionable and protects it from dust and wear against anything that may be floating around in your bag. I'm glad that I bought it for myself.Compared to some of the leather-type cases, there are a few drawbacks that I found. These are merely observations that may not matter to you:1. The cover only folds into one angled-propped position. There is no flap on the back of it to hold it into other positions.2. There is a folder with velcro that secures the kindle inside of the booklet; but since there isn't an elastic hand strap on the inside cover, you have to hold the kindle book in your hands.3. It's light in weight and may not provide the best protection for your kindle, especially if you are clumsy.4. The cover folds back to use as a tablet. However, the cover does not secure to he back of it when folded back, so you have to hold it so that it stays behind the back cover. The colors are nice and bright and the cloth is good quality, nothing cheap here. The mechanism inside that holds your Kindle is very secure and a perfect fit for the 7" Fire HDX. All the holes line up, including the power button. The cover lays down nice and flat too. Couldn't be happier with this case!
