Push-to-connect fittings provide a simple, quick, reliable, and leak-free connection with no tools required. FDA-compliant material; NSF 61 and 51 certified From the Manufacturer Push-fit plastic fitting for the connection of plastic, copper, and CPVC pipe. Designed, manufactured and assembled by John Guest Speedfit. Simply push the fitting fully onto the pipe and twist the plastic nut clockwise to lock in place. Should the need arise to demount the connection unlock the nut and push the collet towards the body of the fitting and pull the pipe to release. The fitting ensures an easier working environment in confined places, is approved for behind the wall installations, and removes the need for hot works on site. This is like some miracle from the distant future. You can literally cut a water line and splice in an ice maker in WELL UNDER 20 SECONDS!!! If you're in a hurry and have sharp scissors, I bet it can be done in 10, or ever faster. As easy as this was (cut, push, push, push), I expected leaks and that I'd have to take the tee out and resort to traditional plumbing methods. NO! It really is that easy. No leaks. First time. I was amazed and kept checking for leaks, but there were none. Not even a drop. It's from the fricken future!
