Review: Great John Guest Reliability - Just like all Speedfit John Guest products, this valve attaches quickly and easily to John Guest tubing. The connection is leakproof as always with John Guest fittings. This is used with water pressure of 80 psi, but it is rated for much higher pressures for cold water. The valve is easy to turn and has performed normally over the last eight months, with no leak. We turn the valve back and forth about once a week. If needed, John Guest fittings can be disconnected from tubing using an inexpensive removal tool. There are optional plastic locking collets that can be added to John Guest Speedfit connectors to prevent inadvertent disconnection, but these are rarely used as an accidental disconnect is exceedingly uncommon. By the way, these are made of polypropylene and are NSF61 listed, so they may be used in a food service application with other food safe materials. Ideally, use these with John Guest LLDPE 3/8" tubing to be certain of food safety and excellent fit. I don't recommend using alternative branded (or unbranded) equivalents as you have no assurance of NSF listing and food safety.

**Q: How do you install it to get it watertight? Looked for youtube videos - no luck!**
A: The fitting itself is watertight. If its not, its defective. Once you push the pipe into this fitting you will feel it "pop" or "slip" into the seat where it becomes watertight. If its sitting right, you should not be able to pull this pipe out, nor should there be any leakage from it.

**Q: Can you control the speed of water flow through this valve?**
A: I don't see why not.  For my use, it's only open or closed. You would actually be controlling the amount of flow not the speed.

**Q: Does this value have or require a california proposition 65 warning for california residents? thanks!**
A: Prop65 applies to any material, the warning is required even if a trace amount of over 1000 substances from the Prop65 list maybe present.
We have the warning on our bags to comply with the requirement of the Prop65 regulation for “clear and reasonable” warning.

**Q: Does this work with 1/4 in drip irrigation tubing?**
A: I used it with a 1/4" pex line for a fridge filter not totally sure about the irrigation line, you can try it out for a test before installing to be sure. A good sharp tubing cutter will help for a better seal and fit. Good Luck

They work as advertised and don't leak. Used them to connect a Reverse Osmosis water purifier up, so that I can switch between the RO system direct output and a deionizing filter after the RO system.
