You must shake the product well before using, otherwise the ink will be watery and difficult to use. The dropper that is included makes usage easier. If you want a smooth line use less ink, and for a bold, raised line slightly more ink your nib. These inks are best used with dip pens, however, glass pens are a little more difficult because the ink dries fast. I read in another review that the company will send you beads to put in the jars if you contact them. I used copper BB's and noticed that some inks do not like them and damages the ink. I recommend using plastic or glass beads to help mix the ink when separated. Review: Not silver but there's a silver lining.. - I tried this color out on black card stock using a No. 2 Drag'n Fly brush. Covers well even on black. But, like many have already said, it's not really silver but a metallic kinda pearl white. The silver lining? It's not huge but....you can add drops of any color you choose to come up with your own custom shade of pearl. Think about it. It's almost white. The ink dries very quickly. Shake the bottle often. This ink is extremely thick. That being said, it is a perfect shimmering snow accent which is what I bought it for. My picture doesn't do it justice. I will be ordering more immediately, because this ink will be used on every Christmas card I write this year, and in the future. I use a Zebra G nib with it, and it holds enough ink to accent a word easily with only a few blobs as I got used to the extremely thick consistency. Once starting to write after dipping fresh, it starts easily and is relatively easy to control. This ink can be used to write (not just accent), but doing so will require a significant amount of ink. For the luster, I do think it is worth it in some cases.
