It is built like a tank.According to Frieling customer service, the stainless steel parts of this orange press are 18/10. It is manufactured in Taiwan. The funnel and extractor are stainless steel...not sure whether the cone which presses down on the fruit is SS or not.It does a terrific job of extracting all the juice without any effort. The arm is easy to lower and press down completely and I am not that strong. It is heavy so that it stays steady on the surface and the suction cups are strong keeping it in place. It cleans up like a breeze; the two pieces that come off (the funnel and extractor) come off easy. The direct.Frieling site states that the press can exert up to 1400 PSI. It does a fine job with oranges and lemons--did not try anything else.My only suggestion for improvement would be that the hole in the bottom of the extractor should be finished so that it is not so sharp. You do need to take care not to cut yourself if you wash this piece by hand. The removable parts are dishwasher safe.I would also suggest that Amazon and its marketplace vendors reconcile their pictures and descriptions. I ordered a silver polished orange press from a page that at the time showed a red colored orange press; today I see it shows an orange colored orange press with a description that says its orange, but the header says it's polished silver. So, I wasn't sure really what was going to arrive. Luckily the polished silver unit arrived.Further, for those of us with very particular requirements, there is no mention in the descriptions of what grade stainless steel is used or where it is manufactured. Further, there are no papers of any kind shipped with the unit. I was pleased to learn that the stainless steel is 18/10, although another vendor (restaurant equipment vendor--not on Amazon) stated that the SS was both 18/8 and 18/10 in the same description.Despite all these minor points, this is a well-built and solid orange press that gets the job done easily with little effort and easy, quick clean up. I was initially leery of the suction cups holding ability, but they work well once you learn to press smoothly and up to a maximum, directly downward force. The two stainless steel elements at the low-end of the press do a good job filtering most pulp and clean up easily. It looks industrial quality and gives my kitchen a professional look.Cons: The upper stainless steel funnel-shape does not remove easily for cleaning. You must get a Philips-head screwdriver to remove the attaching screw and washer. I initially shortcut the cleaning process and just wiped it in place, but upon a later removal, I found pulp-accumulations at the washer perimeter, the screw perimeter, and inside the Philips drive slot. Since accumulations equate to bacterial growth, I now feel compelled to remove it for thorough cleaning once a day. A Phillips screwdriver is now a permanent part of my kitchen equipment. Ideally, this funnel-shape element should have a seamless interior and simple removal mechanism.Also, one of the removable stainless steel elements has a razor-sharp orifice boundary. I have cut myself on this while washing it, and now know to be a bit careful when washing it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars More sweet, less bitter. *by A***M on Reviewed in the United States on August 12, 2015* To most people a juicer is a juicer is a juicer. But, the truth is that varying types of juicers provide varying types of juice. For example, I bought this juicer explicitly for orange and grapefruit juice that I drink each morning. When you "press" the juice out you get a different kind of juice, one with FAR less bitter taste and FAR more sweet taste from the fruit. A juicer (electrical or manual) in which you twist the fruit to wring out the juice breaks down the fiberous interior of the orange which adds the bitter taste to the juice. A juice press does not agitate the interior of the orange, but merely compresses the fleshy part of the orange to extract the juice. Probably not using the correct terms there, but hopefully you get the gist. Anyway, the taste is much more sweet. Also, this is a VERY easy clean up. You take the stainless parts and run them under water and your done. It really is that simple. I occasionally wipe the other parts with a wet sponge too. One thing for sure, when you compress 1/2 an orange in this thing, there is not any juice left behind in the orange. YOu have to apply some pressure to pull the level down, as you are applying an enormous amount of force to compress the orange.
