It is a little straight or maybe too long to be worn really actively - after I've worn it a few minutes while hiking in the snowy woods, I found that the skirt rotates a bit so that the side zip (which I unzipped a few inches from the bottom for mobility) is more in front. I'm 5'5" and usually wear a size 4; I bought a size small in this skirt. It is generously sized, perhaps a bit big in the waist, but accommodates all sorts of layers underneath, including insulated ski pants.
