Wood filament IS abrasive, and will rapidly degrade standard brass nozzles. There will be a noticeable degradation in print quality in as little as a single reel, and print quality will be unacceptably compromised before you finish a second reel. If you plan on printing much wood, you'll need to invest in hardened nozzles, period. Plated brass is better, but even that will fail after 6-8 reels. Hardened tool steel nozzles are much better, and last me 25+ reels before replacement is necessary. **Q: can this be used with a da vinci 1.0 printer. I have the ability to mod the temperature, jus wondering if any one ever tried? What temp setting?** A: As long as you can mod the Temperature, and speed settings you should be fine. I print this at about 220c but am still dialing it in. start off printing it at like 60% normal speed for good results, and despite what you may see other places be sure your infill is at 25-30% in parts you want filled, as the material doesn't bridge the best. **Q: Do i need to worry about ventilation with this filament? i've only printed with pla.** A: Yes, you should worry about ventilation with all PLA filaments. PLA release volatile organic compounds which are considered a health hazard. Even with the wood filler, it is still primarily PLA and needs proper ventilation. **Q: Are you able to stain the finished product?** A: It does stain well with a couple of caveats. be careful when using wood filler because the filament does not absorb stain as well as wood or wood filler, so if you use wood filler, keep in mind that the filler will absorb the stain more then the filament. Also, make sure you sand the part, it will help the filament absorb the stain. And, you will also need to keep the stain on the print longer then what is advised on the stain instructions since the filament does not absorb the stain as well as regular wood.
