The option to use one of two plungers for the pinky finger, and the ability to lock out the intervening 4th plunger is very nice. The device feels very well made and is solid and not flimsy. The adjuster wheels and screw posts for the adjusters are brass and the springs are platted spring steel - not cheap plastic parts or corrosion-prone uncoated steel springs. The plungers themselves do not flex when depressed and the spring tension adjusters are easy to use and allow very smooth and linear increase in resistance across a meaningful range of tension (at least for my strength). I would say I my current finger strength is "normal-moderate", and I have the adjuster wheel one turn or two from max soft, so there is plenty of range in tension. The only minor niggle is that one of the gray rubber pads on one of the plungers fell off on opening the package, but it had plenty of sticky adhesive and I just pressed it in place and it hasn't fallen off since. I can imagine that if there will be a long term problem it might be the pads falling off - but this is easily fixed with adhesives at home.This is a very nicely made and functional product for about $10. I would highly recommend this for anyone looking for a finger exerciser. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Of course it squeaks! *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on June 17, 2016* Bought this both to strengthen up my fingers for guitar frets and as a therapy device for my wife after arm surgery. I am very satisfied so far with the range of force in the individually adjustable pistons and the wide spread so I can really target my pinky.Mine squeaked right from the get go but anything mechanical with rubbing parts will make noise if not lubricated. Go down to Wally World and get some WD-40 White Lithium Grease in a spray can. Hold the exerciser upside down and as you completely depress each button from the other side just barely spritz some grease down into the button where the spring seats. Now, work each button up and down as you spray it and all squeaking will cease. Keep the exerciser upside down the whole time you are treating it as there is inevitably more grease inside than you need. When you have sprayed all the springs and worked all the buttons until all the noise has stopped go ahead and turn the exerciser right side up. Now as a bonus run the tension screw all the way up on each piston and work the button some more and 100% of the spring will be coated with grease. Run the tension screw back down and now the brass rod and tension mechanism are lubricated as well. Repeat for each piston.It's good to have a paper towel or rag on hand to wipe off the excess grease as it comes out of the pistons. On mine I just had to wipe off the shafts of the buttons several times as I worked the pistons. I am surprised more didn't come out the bottom around the brass shaft so watch for it there if you get crazy with the spray, which is easy to do with aerosol cans.Congratulations, you have not only created a stealthy finger exerciser but you have also extended its usable life by lubricating its moving parts. Remember that for any machine or even a simple device like this that the squeaking or grinding you hear is not just annoying, it is friction slowly tearing a hole into the material that is rubbing together. That 100 year old Model T you see driving around is because some old guy was out there every weekend greasing up the moving parts. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars very helpful for musicians and physical therapy *by S***W on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2016* Needed to strengthen little fingers due to nerve damage and needed a light setting to start with (almost nothing) and this was perfect to start with. Definitely not for strong hands but for slightly disabled (stroke, neuropathy) very good starting point. I did get this for musical reasons also but good for anyone for physical therapy starting point (can increase resistance as gain strength) as well as women that may need to start with less resistance.
