It’s a bit woo woo in places (it has a tracker for spiritual growth etc) but as weekly planner it has been really useful to my ADHD brain. I got one that was gray on gray & couldn't see it well.** A: No, the ink is a soft gray and the paper is a soft white. I have the wine red one, and assuming all the internal printing is identical, it is not high-contrast. The dot grid is very fine, which is good if you want it to be unobtrusive underneath your handwriting in pencil/pen, but may not be bold enough if you require high-contrast printing for vision reasons. **Q: Does it stay open on its own?** A: Yes. The pages will lay flat if you want them to stay open. When the planner is new, the book feels well bound and tight, but as soon as you use it, it responds to your needs. It easily stays open to write in the pages. You can leave the book open on a desk as your working calendar. I am currently using the 13th month (January 2022) of my dated planner from 2021. I have carried it everywhere. Every page is intact, still safely bound. I can open any page flat to write. I stick in beautiful stamps, ticket stubs, memorable cookie fortunes, business cards from restaurants where I enjoyed good food and good company. I make my daily planner a memory book by year end. All those extra pages, I use for my purposes, not necessarily for what is printed on the page. This planner is a gem for me. The quality of the production for past Legend planners was superb. I hope the sellers stay with their past production suppliers for future years. It is really a quality product. I love it. **Q: Do you have to fill in your own dates?** A: Yes. To tack onto another answer, you fill in your own date numbers for months and weeks, but it does print the weeks as Monday through Sunday (European style) and the months as Sunday through Saturday (American style). If you start mid-week and go for a whole year, you might need to sketch in one more weekly layout at the back if you fill the whole thing. **Q: Does the planner lay flat when opened?** A: Yes. The pages open well and lay flat for writing. If you choose to leave the planner open on a desk as an active calendar, it will work as needed. The well bound book responds to your uses. When the planner is new, it will be tight like a new book. As you use it, it adapts. After using my 2021 dated planner for all thirteen months (through January 2022), it is still completely intact and solid. I love the quality and layout of the planner. It is really lovely quality thick paper (no bleed through), with a lie flat design, a pen loop, three coloured page marker ribbons, an instruction card and a guaranteed money back warranty. Its slightly smaller than A5 and with a gorgeous front cover design, 3 pages of useful stickers and a matching elastic to keep it closed. Inside there is a lovely little section at the front on self awareness and discovery, my vision, dreams and goals. A double spread to create a vision board. Next is a double spread with life area goals, with 3 boxes for each life area to list you top goals in each area for this year followed by a page to write your strategy to help you achieve them and your daily rituals: Morning and evening routines, gratitude and affirmations. The next section of the book is for monthly information for all 12 months, which will make reviewing the year really easy and this is organised as follows: It is set out in quarterly sections; each quarter starts with: My 3 Month Goals - 3 goals with your why and your reward and on the opposite page, an action steps for each of the 3 goals, Then we get 3 months of layouts: the next double spread is a month layout for you add the month name sticker and to complete the dates and at the bottom of the first page there are 4 boxes for your most important goals for the month, and at the bottom of the opposite page Things I will do to make this month great, with 6 boxes with each of the life areas. Over the page is a reflect on your month page which includes a life wheel and a place to list what improvements to make for the following month and action steps and finally in each monthly section is an ideas and notes page. The next section are the 52 weekly double spreads: Left page days of the week, right page this week's main goal and reward if achieved, habit tracker, work to do List, personal to do list a dotted area for you to use as you wish then two boxes with 3 lines each to list this week's wins and how I'll improve next week. At the very bottom of the page you get 4 tick boxes for Main Goal Achieved; Rewarded Myself; Vision Refreshed and Goals Refreshed.. the only thing missing for me is a record of glasses of water drunk each day, but maybe this will be addressed on the next edition?
