It is easily assembled. The legs are in a zipped compartment underneath the sofa, and you basically need a screwdriver (preferably power) to attach. The head rests slide into place and are adjustable so you can sit straight up or a little reclined. The seating is firm, and the material is comfortable. The only bad thing about it is that the fabric is really itchy and uncomfortable. I'm usually wrapped up in blankets while sitting on it, and it's not /awful/ but I really wish it was softer. I'm hunting down a slipcover and then it will be perfect.
