Review: Replaced old 2Wire DSL Filters, works great! - I was using the old 2Wire DSL filters from... goodness, how many years has it been? I noticed that whenever a phone would ring on our landline (e.g. automated appointment reminders), our DSL connection would die a horrible death in a cacophony of bad packets. We had filters on both the phone itself and the DSL line going into the modem. Additionally, when we were forced to call from our landline phone (due to a certain system requiring us to call from the phone number that an account was set up under), you could hear clicking noises and then a disconnecting burst of static white noise. In other words, our DSL filters were bad. After probably 15 years, I guess it's about time. I bought this pair here and replaced them on the phone and on the DSL modem side. I then tested with inbound and outbound phone calls. No issues whatsoever. DSL Internet connection is staying up, phone calls are going through and maintaining voice quality fine.
