EVERYTHING! *by O***E on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2018* There's a scene, not too far into Crave, where the Hero, Machlan Gibson, comes upon a form lying in a bed, and based the scar on the ankle that's poking out from under the bedclothes, immediately identifies it as belonging to his long time love interest, Hadley Jacobs.I can't help but think that , in some ways, that one scene is a metaphor for their whole story.As the book opens, the on again off again relationship they've had since their teens has been off again for well over a year, and being unable to fully move on with someone else, Hadley returns to the small town of Linton for a few weeks in an effort to try and put all of her unresolved feelings for Mach into a neat little box, once and for all.What quickly becomes apparent is that both of them are incredibly wounded individuals, and it's like even though the emotional scars they bear might not be as readily observed as that one on Hadley's ankle, as is the way with scars, they each have trouble focusing on anything but those scars.Scars of wounds they've inflicted upon each other. Scars of wounds they were unable to prevent. Scars of wounds that, like the elephant in the room, they never, ever, speak about, and therein perhaps, lies the heart of their ongoing dysfunction, After all, for wounds like that to heal and fade with the passage of time, they need to be treated properly.Though often times told with a light tone, with a regular interjection of humor (often appearing in the form of the irrepressible Peck, Machlan's cousin) Crave is, at it's heart a tale of immeasurable heartbreak and the kind of healing that can only come with the passage of time.As a self confessed fan of Adriana Locke's words, I found myself enjoying what at first seemed to be a lighthearted second (or fifteenth) chance romance in the vein of many rom-coms, until I got to THAT POINT (when you get there you'll know) and suddenly found myself swept away by the torrent of emotions that assailed me as the depths of Mach and Had's mutual torment was revealed, at which point the prospect of a HEA went from something to be wished for, to an unlikely necessity.Having reached that point of no return, I simply couldn't put the book down and wound up turning the last page some time after 7 AMFilled with lovable (and a couple unloveable) characters, some of whom are new to the series, some who've been there all the way through, scenes that made me laugh out loud and more than one that made my face leak in all sorts of unmanly ways, and the particular brand of magic that seems to capture my heart every single time, Crave quite simply left me stupefied, staring off into space in wonder at the journey it had taken me on.… and suddenly desperate for Peck to get his own story ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Story! *by T***5 on Reviewed in the United States on October 1, 2018* I love a good brothers best friend/second chance romance and Adriana Locke absolutely nailed it with Machlan and Hadley. They have been in love with each other for years and yet, they push each other’s buttons to the point of pure frustration. Hadley desperately needs to move on with her life and Machlan needs to let her go for good. But it’s just not that easy when your heart and soul has found what it craves.Machlan and Hadley’s story was one of love, forgiveness, letting go of the past and making the best of the future. With a storyline that I had never expected, their journey was one that broke my heart and yet overwhelmed me with with a love like no other. The struggles that they both faced, together and on their own, kept me captivated until the very end. With the addition of the rest of the Gibson boys and Hadley’s brother, Cross in the story, Crave became a true testament to the importance of family.Adriana Locke poured her heart and soul into this story and you can tell. Crave takes you on the emotional rollercoaster ride of a lifetime and I loved every single moment. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ALL THE FEELS & CRAVING MORE !! *by E***) on Reviewed in the United States on October 2, 2018* This series so far has had me hot under the collar, and this book just took it up to a whole new level!!!Machlan, the youngest Gibson brother is all kinds of hot, Hot tempered, Moody, Grumpy, a man with a lot of walls, but Hadley has loved him all her life. Even though their past has been passionate, it also holds secrets that in ways has tore them apart and will definitely have you in pieces. But neither can really move on or let go.Oh my, this story just had my emotions all twisted right from the start. This is so much more than just a second chance romance. I loved both these characters, Machlan has definitely become my favourite Gibson Brother, and Hadley just blew me away with her inner heart, even though my heart broke into pieces for her. The dialogue and the the relationships this couple have with each other and family and friends were so easy to become invested in that you just felt part of the clan. I think i read 60% of this book either with tears falling or biting them back. The love between these two was so obvious, yet they both were on such different pages and i wanted nothing more than for them to meet right in the middle of the same page.
